Abstract
This paper delves into the psychological and
sociological dimensions of arm wrestling, a sport traditionally perceived as
merely physical. By examining the sport’s impact on participants' mental
health, social interactions, and identity formation, this study reveals the
multifaceted nature of arm wrestling beyond the physical competition. The
research employs qualitative methods, including interviews and surveys with arm
wrestlers and enthusiasts, to understand their experiences and perceptions.
Findings indicate that arm wrestling fosters psychological resilience, enhances
social bonds, and contributes to identity development. The study also explores
how societal perceptions of strength and masculinity influence participants'
experiences. These insights not only broaden the understanding of arm wrestling
but also offer implications for sports psychology and sociology.
