Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of 12 weeks of surya namaskar and selected asanas practices on coordination of hearing impaired students. For the purpose of the study, 60 hearing impaired students were selected from Anandha Rangapillai Special School for Visually Handicapped and Hearing-Impaired, Pillaichavadi, Puducherry and their age ranged from 10-15 years. The subjects were divided into three equal group’s which was Group I (suryanamaskar group n==20) and Group II (asana group n==20) and Group II (control group n=20). Experimental groups was subjected to a training programme for 12 weeks of surya namaskar and asanas practices. Test was conducted for coordination before and after 12 weeks of training programme and data was collected and analysed statistically by Analysis of covariance to find out the significant level. Since the calculated value of the posttest value 78.31 are greater than the required table value 5.02 at 0.05 level of confidence, there is significance difference among the three groups. Therefore the hypothesis has been accepted.
